Great Falls College MSU hosts Library Open House and children’s workshops

Come see the 3D printer in action and enjoy refreshments at the Weaver Library.

GREAT FALLS – Great Falls College MSU Library Services will hold an open house Monday, April 9 from 4-6 p.m. to celebrate National Library Week.

The Great Falls College MSU Weaver Library is open to the public. Any Montana resident age 16 or older can get a library card for free.

"The open house is a great chance for people to come in and learn more about what we offer at the Weaver Library and to get their free library card," said Laura Wight, director of Library Services at GFC MSU.

Visitors can also see the 3D printer in action and enjoy refreshments. Bring your favorite book and you can be the star of your own READ poster.

Later in April, the Weaver Library will host two free workshops for children, which will feature local author and illustrator Ryan Acra.

The workshops will be held Saturday, April 21. A workshop for kids ages 6-11 will be from 1-2 p.m., and a workshop for ages 12-18 will be from 3-4 p.m.

Ryan Acra is the author of the "Sugarbeet Falls" Volumes 1 and 2. During the workshop, Acra will help participants create their own superheroes and push the limits of their imagination.

The workshops are free, but space is limited. Call the Weaver Library at 406-771-4398 to pre-register.

All events will be held at the Weaver Library at Great Falls College MSU, 2100 16th Ave. S.
